Edinburgh Airport was officially opened in 1977 by Her Majesty the Queen. It is now operated by BAA and features a modern terminal building, two main runways and a large cargo operation. A £100 million redevelopment to extend and expand the current terminal has been completed and Edinburgh is now Scotland's fastest growing airport.
